The main video formats are indicated on the thumbnails or in the video player. They provide two types of information:
usage: âEditableâ or âReady to publishâ
details about the video content: sound, archive footage, etc.
An "Editable" video is raw footage made up of illustrative images and interview soundbites intended for re-editing. They represent the majority of AFPâs video production.
When necessary, the letter âEâ indicates an editable video.
Archives: A series of archive images to illustrate a topic and/or current event.
1st images E: Between 30 seconds and 1â30 of images without soundbites, used in breaking news cases or as the first sound extracts quickly sent before a longer video including the full press conference/statement.
NSV: A story edited only with its natural sounds (no commentary, suggested script).
Raw: Edited illustrative images followed by soundbites.
Stockshots: B-roll/illustrative footage of a city, the economy, or specific topics such as Big Tech (GAFAM), mobile applications, etc.
Voiced E: A story edited with commentary from an AFP journalist.
- Corresponds to videos from the AFPTV Newsroom feed.
The âReady to publishâ format is a video that can be published as is, for example on a website. Specific sequences can be extracted for other edits by using the âNSV (Natural Sound Version)â format, which is the editable version of the story without commentary or sound effects.
When necessary, the letter âRâ indicates a ready to publish video.
1st images R: Between 30 seconds and 1â30 of images without soundbites, used in breaking news cases or as the first sound extracts quickly sent before a longer video including the full press conference/statement.
Voiced R: A story edited with commentary from an AFP journalist.
Subtitled: A story edited and ready to publish with embedded subtitles.
- Corresponds to videos from the AFPTV Digital feed.
(Caution : âReady to publishâ videos are not editable, and no sequences can be extracted from them since they come with on-screen text banners.)
